Starting Tuesday, I will be living in New York City for the next three months. I will be interning in the Global Communications and Public Relations department at Oscar de la Renta. I'm so grateful for this opportunity. Living in New York for three months will be a huge change for me, but I'm excited to take it on. Interning with a New York fashion company has always been a dream of mine. If several years ago someone had told me of the opportunity coming my way I wouldn’t had believed it. I want to thank everyone who has supported me, especially my wonderful parents. I'm thrilled to start this new chapter in my life. See you soon, New York. xo, N A few of my favorite pictures of Oscar and his designs...
This past week I flew to New York City for two days. My 48 hours spent in the Big Apple were a whirlwind. While I was in the city, I interned at the Oscar de la Renta office.
The last time I was in New York City was this past fall. Sometimes when you are gone from a place that you love, you begin to forget why you loved it so much. Of course I missed the city, but being home had been so nice. During the 48 hours I was back in the city there were little moments that reminded me of why I fell in love with this special place. I love the cold crisp weather during the winter, the Frank Sinatra music playing while ice skaters twirl in Bryant Park and the little café on the corner where you can stop in to grab the best coffee in Manhattan. My second night, I spent time with my close friend Mayleen, aka MayMay. It was so nice to see her and to catch up. We shopped a bit, walked through Bryant Park and grabbed dessert and coffee at La Pain Quotidien. Overall my 48 hours were amazing. I’m so ecstatic to say that I will be spending this upcoming summer in New York City working at Oscar de la Renta as an intern in the PR department and also modeling. See you soon New York City. Xo, N Around the end of my trip to Utah I made a bucket list. I wanted to go to a national park, go to the farm and photograph the sunset. With the last two days of our trip we tried to fit in as much as possible. Overall this trip was extraordinary. I had a great time with great people. I already miss the breathtaking views of Utah. I will be back next year in the fall. I hope you enjoy the part 2 of my trip to Monticello, Utah. xo, N
I just returned from Utah, and I'm already reminiscing over the stunning skies and sky scraper mountains. I went on a trip with some of my family and friends to explore the area around Monticello, Utah. The population is approximately 2,000 people. So very small. I love it because everybody knows everybody. The first night we arrived there I walked to a gas station to buy some snacks, and the cashier said to me "You're not from around here?" It was something straight out of a movie, haha. Every morning we would wake up around 5am to drive to the country to watch the sunrise. I remember first experiencing the sunsets and saying to my dad, "Why aren't the sunsets at home like this?" He explained that back at home we are surrounded by trees and buildings. So we aren't able to witness a 360 view of the sky. One night there was a particular star that was shining brighter than all of the others in the sky. We found out that the glowing star was actully Venus, to the right of it were Jupiter and Mars. I captured the planets in a non focused image at the bottom of the blog post. Take a look for yourself. Here are my pictures in part one of my trip to Monticello, Utah! xo, N
Some of my best memories in life are with my family. When I started traveling I would be separated from them for months and it was hard for me. Now I cherish all the little moments I get to spend with them even more. Every weekend when I'm home I try to do something with my family. Last weekend we went apple picking in the mountains. None of us had ever picked apples before, so it was a fun experience for all of us. We drove two hours to the mountains and stopped at the cutest orchard called Sky Top Orchard. There were endless rows of apple trees. We weren't expecting to bring home as many of the apples as we did. There were literally stacks of apples on our kitchen counter. I'm thinking about making an apple pie to get in the holiday spirit. Anyway, follow me to the mountains to Sky Top Orchard! xo, N
Happy Friday everyone ツ Hope everyone's week was good! This past week I took a little road trip to the mountains to Asheville North Carolina. Every time I come to the mountains it reminds me of when I was a little girl. I mean I'm still a little girl, but when I was littler haha. My siblings and I would spend a week at my grandparent's house. We would go to endless national parks and try to spot the bears in the trees. If we spotted a bear (which we never did), we would get $10 from my grandfather. That was big money for me at the time. So I guess you could say hiking and the mountains have a special place in my heart. On Wednesday I went hiking with my mom, and decided to bring along my camera! Lately it has been raining ☂ non-stop. So we got lucky to catch some sunlight in the midst of it all. It had just stopped raining while we were driving up. The clouds were hovered over the mountains. We were so high up, that sometimes while we were hiking my head was in the clouds ☁ (literally & mentally). Come a long with me while I explore the stunning mountains of Asheville, North Carolina ✌
xo, N Ever since Labor Day, I think New York City has been so much more colder. I went out for brunch this morning wearing shorts and shortly ran back into the hotel to slip on some black skinny jeans! After brunch I had a casting and a fitting. Then went to 5th Avenue with my mom, to sneak in some shopping. I ended the day with purchasing my first Henri Bendal backpack! I even got it monogramed. Sweet dreams ❤ Hope you enjoy xo, N
Good morning! I am currently in bed being a lazy bum. Yesterday was one of the best days I've ever had in New York City! I brought my mom and my camera along with me. I went to River Side Park along the Hudson River, for a morning run. Then sat down at this adorable cafe called Two Hands, located in Little Italy (It's my new favorite place to get a good acai bowl). And lastly I ended the day walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, while the sun set. It was such a fun day! Hope you enjoy xo, N ❤
P.S. Follow me on snapchat at @nicolechinuntde for daily updates on my travels. Hello loves! These last few weeks in New York have been a whirlwind for me. I've been running around to castings, shoots & meet ups with my friends. This Saturday I shot with one of my favorite photographers & close friend Mayleen (May May). We wanted to make a day out of it so we went to Coney Island! This was the first time either of us had been there. Let's just say going to Coney Island on a weekend in the summertime is crazy busy. There were people everywhere, but luckily we got some super fun shots. The shoot was for my portfolio, as well as a blog post coming soon! I'm starting a new segment on my blog called "Follow Me 2 _". Come with me from the time I wake up in the morning to when I ride the subway home! Hope you enjoy. xo, N
